The Honorable Cindy A. Larsen was elected to the Superior Court bench in November 2016. Judge Larsen, a lifelong Washington resident, was born in Everett and raised in Olympia. She attended the University of Washington, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Communications-Editorial Journalism in 1992. She graduated from the University Of Washington School Of Law in 1995. She then clerked for Judge Thomas J. Wynne of the Snohomish County Superior Court before joining the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office in 1997, where she worked in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. Judge Larsen serves on the State Judicial Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) Executive Committee, and several state-wide Superior Court Judges’ Association Committees including: Criminal Law and Rules Committee, Therapeutic Courts Committee and Family Law and Juvenile Justice Committee. Additionally, Judge Larsen was appointed by Governor Inslee to serve as the judicial representative on the Washington State Partnership Counsel for Juvenile Justice. Judge Larsen also serves on the Snohomish County Superior Court Operations Committee, Budget, Planning and Facilities Committee, Drug Court Committee, Long Range Planning Committee and serves as Chair of the Juvenile Justice Committee. Judge Larsen volunteers to teach local high school students through the Street Law Program and is a member of Rotary. Judge Larsen lives in the Everett-Mukilteo area with her husband and three children.
