Judge Edirin O. Okoloko

The Honorable Edirin O. Okoloko was appointed to the Snohomish County Superior Court Bench by Governor Jay Inslee in September 2018, and January 2020, and elected November 2020. Born in Nigeria, Judge Okoloko obtained his first law degree from the University of Benin in Nigeria in 1998. He immigrated to the United States that same year and obtained a second law degree with honors from Seattle University in 2003. In 2004, Judge Okoloko served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael T. Downes of the Snohomish County Superior Court before joining the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in 2005 where he worked for 13 years in the Criminal Division. In 2007 and 2008, he was honored by the Snohomish County Court Clerks with awards for personifying personal and professional civility and courtesy to staff, litigants, and the bench. Judge Okoloko is the current Chair of the Snohomish County Superior Court’s Juvenile Committee, and he also serves on the Family Law Committee, the Information Accessibility Committee, and the Juvenile Court’s Cultural Advisory Committee. Judge Okoloko is one of the Co-Chairs of the Washington State Pattern Instructions Committee and serves as the Superior Court Judges Association Representative on the State Supreme Court’s Interpreter and Language Access Commission (ILAC). He and his wife have two children.
