Lizzy Solano

Lizzie grew up as an Army brat with her family. She lived in eight different states by the time she was a freshman in high school! For most of these moves, her family took her on road trips where she was able to experience many, many parks such as the Red Wood Forest, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Yosemite, Glacier,  Hawaii Volcanoes, Everglades, Great Sand Dunes, Black Canyon and Yellowstone just to name a few. (There were also a lot of cows and corn along the way).

When Lizzie graduated high school she went to Pikes Peak Community College to obtain an Associate’s degree in Art, specializing in photography (film is her absolute favorite). During this time she also worked her way up from a server to a general manager in the restaurant industry which helped her to learn how to run a profitable business all while taking care of her crew and guests.
How do you go from restaurants to Parks? Well, overtime Lizzie realized that she wanted to get back to those roots of passion for the parks. So she interviewed for a seasonal position working at the front desk at the Snohomish Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office and the rest is a dream come true. Lizzie now works full time for the Parks Department as a Reservation Specialist, Front Desk Secretary and assists with many projects in various locations including the Evergreen State Fairgrounds and the WSU Extension Office.

Lizzie loves going on hikes and camping with her husband and dog. She also enjoys attending the theatre (being a former thespian herself), photography (duh), playing video games and records her own podcast. Lizzie is so grateful to have found such a great community to work for and to work with. Snohomish is mighty passionate about their parks and their people and Lizzie is so excited to be a part of it.
