1. Can I still vote in person?

Snohomish County votes all by mail ballot. However, there are accessible voting machines in the lobby of the Snohomish County Elections Office beginning 20 days before every election.

3. How will I receive my ballot and other election mailings?

Along with your residential address, you must also provide a valid mailing address. An accurate, valid mailing address is essential in order to receive ballots and election information on time. This can include a post office box, address of a friend or relative, shelter, or general delivery at a local post office.

Ballots are mailed 19 days before an election and need to be returned to any collection site or postmarked by the election day.

4. I don’t have a traditional home address, can I still register to vote?

Yes, the Washington Constitution doesn’t require a “residence” as a condition of voting. As long as you are a U.S. citizen, 18 years old, not currently denied your civil rights as a result of being convicted of a felony, and have lived in Snohomish County for at least 30 days, you can register to vote.

5. What address should I use?

All voters must register at the location they deem to be their residence. Washington
State law states that a voter who lacks a traditional residential address can register
at a shelter, park, motor-home, intersection or other identifiable location they consider their residence. This location will be used to determine which precinct you will vote in. (RCW 29A.08.112)

6. What is general delivery and how do I use it?

General delivery is an easy, no cost alternative to carrier service or a post office box. After registering with general delivery, your mail will be held at your city’s main post office for up to 30 days and can be picked up at your convenience.
