1.
What is eFile?
File your Snohomish County personal property tax listing online. Electronic filing or e-file is a way to file your business's personal property listings over the Internet. It is only available to businesses already registered with Snohomish County.
2.
Why sign up for eFile?
By using e-file you can save paperwork and time. The e-file website has options to streamline data entry. It will reduce your cost of printing and mailing your annual property listing, and it will validate the data you enter to help prevent mistakes.
3.
When can I file?
The filing deadline of April 30 is still the same whether you use e-file or submit a paper form. To avoid a penalty, you must file your return by April 30. E-file is normally available from mid-January until August 31. From September 1 until mid-January the system is closed so that taxes can be computed.
4.
How does it work?
Using the property tax account number from your last personal property tax valuation notice you can sign up, edit / update your property tax information, and submit your listing electronically.
5.
How do I sign up?
Beginning in mid-January go to the
e-file website
and select the 'enroll' tab at the top of the page. You will need to know the property tax account number that is listed on your last property tax valuation notice. Once you enroll you will receive your user name and password within 24 business hours. You can then file personal property tax listings electronically for the year.
6.
Is there a deadline to sign up for eFile?
You may sign up for e-file anytime that the e-file system is available. If you are not already enrolled in e-file and have a property tax account number, you must sign up to file for the current tax year prior to May 1 to avoid a penalty for filing a late return. The filing deadline for your personal property listing is still April 30. E-file is only available during the personal property filing season (early February through August 31).
