Whitehorse Regional Park & Campground
|Other Link||Whitehorse Campground|
Located just north of the City of Darrington, Whitehorse Regional Park is about as far as you can get from the hustle and bustle of urban life and still be in the county. The prominent amenity in this 82-acre park is the tournament-level baseball fields, which were constructed in 2006. Spectacular views of Whitehorse Mountain and other snow-capped peaks make the visit worth the drive. Just added in 2021 is the county's first and only campground with equestrian sites! The new Whitehorse Campground has 18 sites, a picnic shelter and close access to the Whitehorse Trail.
Other parks to visit while in the area include Backman Park and Squire Creek Park.
This regional park was acquired by Snohomish County through a reconveyance process from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in 2000.
Phase 1 of the campground was completed in May 2021. Phase 2 construction to build a tent camping loop and a restroom and shower building is scheduled for the summer of 2022. See the campground page for more information. Click HERE for camping and shelter reservations.
