General Description of Board Duties
SCC 2.06 established the Snohomish County Agricultural Advisory Board as an advisory body to the County Council, Planning Commission, Hearing Examiner, and County Executive, to make recommendations concerning agricultural lands and issues in Snohomish County. The board is comprised of 11 members who represent a broad range of interests. Appointments of members shall be made by the county council from candidates nominated by the county executive, taking into consideration an intention to balance representation of the two major river basins. All members shall reside in Snohomish County and be engaged in commercial agricultural activities within the county. In the event the county executive is unable to find a candidate meeting the qualifications for a specific position, the executive may nominate a candidate whose appointment is otherwise consistent with the intent of this section. Regular meetings of the board are scheduled for two hours, held at the county campus on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 12:30 p.m.
