Snohomish County Restricts Use of Mechanical Unload Devices at Drop Box Sites

Effective Sunday, November 15, 2015, all materials brought to drop box sites must be unloaded by hand

EVERETT, Wash., November 2, 2015 – Due to safety concerns, mechanical unload devices will no longer be allowed to be used at any Snohomish County Drop Box site. All items must be unloaded manually. There are three drop box sites, also known as Neighborhood Recycling and Disposal Centers (NRDCs), located in Granite Falls, Snohomish, and Sultan. The policy change goes into effect on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Customers may still mechanically unload garbage at all three county transfer stations, located in Arlington, Everett, and Mountlake Terrace.

For more information, including drop box site and transfer station locations and hours, visit www.snoco.org/solidwaste or call 425-388-3425.
