FEMA announced an award of $6.6 million through the Hazard Mitigation Program Grant (HMPG), commonly known as the Voluntary Buyout project, to support Snohomish County’s effort to acquire private property destroyed, damaged, and at risk for flood in the SR 530 Slide area. FEMA will issue an award letter and scope of work to Washington State Emergency Management who will work with Snohomish County to implement the project.
