District Court Presiding Judge Rancourt Appoints Jennifer Millett as Commissioner


SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash., January 9, 2023 – Snohomish County District Court Presiding Judge Jennifer Rancourt announced the appointment of Jennifer Millett to the position of Snohomish County District Court Commissioner.  Commissioner Millett will replace Commissioner Rick Leo who was recently elected as a judge in the Snohomish County District Court, Evergreen Division.


Commissioner Millett comes to District Court from the City of Marysville where she served as a prosecutor since 2008 and she was a founding member of Marysville Mental Health Alternatives, a therapeutic court working with chronic offenders who are challenged by mental health concerns. Commissioner Millett started her legal career as a law clerk in Snohomish County Superior Court before moving to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. In recent years, she has also served as a judge pro tem in multiple jurisdictions.


“Commissioner Millett’s compassion, strong work ethic, demonstrated ability to collaborate with justice partners and extensive legal experience will make her a tremendous asset to the District Court bench,” stated Rancourt. Commissioner Millett joined the eight elected judges of the District Court on January 9, 2023.
