Application Deadline Approaching for Snohomish County Hotel/Motel Tourism Grants

Applications due August 16, 2019

EVERETT, Wash., August 8, 2019 – The deadline is approaching to submit applications for Snohomish County Hotel/Motel grants. Applications are currently being accepted from public and non-profit agencies for programs and projects that develop and promote tourism in Snohomish County.

Funds may be used for out-of-county marketing and promotion of events and festivals that draw tourists to stay overnight in the county. They may also be utilized for projects that strongly align with the Snohomish County Strategic Tourism Plan and improve the experience for visitors to the county. Historically, individual project allocations have averaged around $10,000. Funding is awarded from revenue collected annually from hotel and motel room rentals in Snohomish County.

The Snohomish County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will review applications and make recommendations to the Snohomish County Executive and County Council for final approval. Funds will be available beginning in January 2020 to competitive applicants who can complete their proposed projects by December 15, 2020.

Details and other program requirements are included in the application package. Seven (7) original hard copies must be submitted to the Snohomish County Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (6705 Puget Park Dr., Snohomish, WA 98296) by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 16. Applications can be submitted in person or via mail, and mailed applications must be received by the deadline date and time. Emailed or faxed applications and applications received after the deadline date and time will not be considered.
