Mark your calendars for Mutt Strut August 12 and Check the Chip Day on August 15.
August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Everett Animal Shelter, Snohomish County Animal Advisory Board, and Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital are teaming up to host Mutt Strut at Langus Riverfront Park. Admission is free and free microchipping for dogs will be offered on a first come first served basis starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Everett Animal Shelter. The Snohomish County Animal Advisory Board will be conducting free Canine Good Citizen tests and there will be pet-friendly vendor displays, pet adoptions, pet showcase competitions, food trucks, a police K-9 demonstration and more. All dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and on a non-retractable leash under six feet to attend.
August 15 is Check the Chip Day. Microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reunited with their families if they get lost. If you haven't had your pet chipped, make an appointment with your veterinarian to get your pet chipped. If your pet is already chipped, make sure the chip registration is up to date.
