Seattle Hill Rd to Close August 14 – 18, North of 148th St SE to 141st St SE
Local access will only be granted to those who cannot reach their property via an alternate route
EVERETT, Wash., August 3, 2017 – Snohomish County Public Works is in the midst of re-building Seattle Hill Rd and will be fully closing a section of the road for construction. The road will be closed north of 148th St SE to south of 141st St SE for five days from 6 a.m. Monday, August 14 to 10 p.m. Friday, August 18. Both intersections at 148th St SE and 141st St SE will remain open to traffic.
Residents whose only access to their property is through this section will be allowed through the closed segment of Seattle Hill Rd. Access through the closure will only be available via the north end of Seattle Hill Rd. Residents who can access their homes via alternate routes, will be required to do so. A detour route for the closures will be via 132nd St SE and 35th Ave SE.
The Seattle Hill Rd improvement project, spanning from 132nd St SE to 35th Ave SE is on schedule and 25 percent complete. The project includes widening the road to three lanes to include a center turn lane, and the addition of bike lanes, curbs and sidewalks. Crews started on the south end of the project and are working northward.
Since April 2017, storm drains and half a mile of curb, gutter and porous sidewalks have been installed from 35th Ave SE to 144th St SE.
This project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2018. The estimated project construction cost is $8 million. Funding for this project is from the Federal Surface Transportation Fund, distributed by the Puget Sound Regional Council, Washington State Transportation Improvement Board, the city of Mill Creek and Snohomish County.
