On Monday January 23rd, 2017, the Snohomish County Council unanimously appointed Nate Nehring to fill the vacant district 1 council seat. The vacancy comes after Ken Klein resigned from the position in December 2016 to take a position in the Snohomish County Executive’s office.
“We are grateful to have had three outstanding candidates to interview for this appointment,” said Council Chair Brian Sullivan. “Nate is very passionate about public service and will be a great addition to the council.”
The three candidates were chosen by the Republican Party and sent to the county council for this interview process. There will be an election in November for the citizens to decide who will fill a full four year term. Councilmember Nehring will serve the remainder of Ken Klein’s unfinished term which ends when the election for the four year term is certified.
