[ARCHIVED] Still Time to Register and Vote

In-person voter registration for first time voters or those new to Washington State ends Monday, October 31.

In-person voter registration for first time voters or those new to Washington State ends Monday, October 31. You can register at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended office hours will be available on Saturday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the office will stay open until 6 p.m. on October 31. The Auditor’s Office is located at 3000 Rockefeller Avenue, Everett.

To register to vote in Washington, you must:
• be a United States citizen;
• have lived in Washington state for at least 30 days
• be at least 18 years old by November 8, 2016
• not be disqualified due to a court order; and
• not be currently under Department of Corrections supervision for a felony conviction.

Ballots were mailed to registered voters starting on October 20. If you are registered to vote in Snohomish County and have not received your ballot, please contact the Auditor’s Office at 425-388-3444. Voters are encouraged to return their completed ballots as soon as practical. There are several options available for returning a ballot - through a ballot drop box, a mobile drop box van, an accessible voting site, directly to the Auditor’s Office, or by mail.

Ballots returned through the mail must be posted marked no later than November 8. Due to the large number of state and local measures on the ballot, $0.68 postage is needed to return your ballot by mail. As has always been the case, the Auditor’s Office accepts ballots returned with insufficient postage. Ballots retuned through a drop box, a mobile drop box van, or an accessible voting site do not need postage. The last day to return a ballot through a drop box, a mobile drop box van or an accessible voting site is Tuesday, November 8 at 8 p.m.
