Representatives will be present from: • Island Marine Resources Committee • Island County Shore Stewards • Snohomish Conservation District • Sound Water Stewards Presentations will begin at 6:00 pm

Learn about coastal geology and how to manage your landscape for slope stability and wildlife habitat

 

Featured Speaker: Ben Alexander is co-owner of Sound Native Plants with expertise on shoreline vegetation, project planning, designs and permitting.

Lisa Kaufman manages shoreline restoration projects for the Northwest Straits Foundation’s Nearshore Program.

Workshop topics include:

    Bluff and beach processes

    Puget Sound nearshore wildlife and habitat

    Soils and the importance of drainage management

    Root strength and the role of native vegetation on a marine slope/shoreline

    Examples and recommendations for native vegetation on your property
