BOTHELL, Wash. – Yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives arrested a 35-year-old Bothell man for first-degree robbery and a 27-year-old Bothell man for first-degree kidnapping and first-degree robbery.
Around 11 a.m. yesterday, deputies responded to the 2100 block of 180th St SE for reports of an assault. Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim, a 31-year-old woman, had been walking near the 100 block of 194th St SE in Bothell earlier that morning when she was approached, thrown to the ground, held at gunpoint and robbed of her possessions. The victim was then zip tied, duct taped, blindfolded and forced into a vehicle. She was held at gunpoint and driven to an apartment complex in Bothell where she was pushed out of the vehicle. The victim was later seen walking down the road and a nearby resident contacted her and called 911.
The victim was transported by aid to the hospital with serious injuries.
SIU detectives advised the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) of the incident and they began searching for the suspects. Around 6 p.m. yesterday, VOTF located the 27-year-old Bothell man outside his residence and took him into custody. Around 11:30 p.m., VOTF located and arrested the 35-year-old suspect at a motel on 196th St SW in Lynnwood. The handgun believed to be used in the incident was recovered from inside the motel room.
Both suspects were transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
The victim and suspects are known to each other. This remains an active investigation.
