CIU Investigates Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. – Around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash in the 12600 block of East Gibson Road. A vehicle was traveling northbound on East Gibson Road when it lost control, left the roadway and struck a metal fence. The passenger, a 39-year-old Everett woman, died at the scene.
The driver, a 44-year-old Everett man, remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives. He was detained for a blood search warrant and released.
The road remained closed for several hours Friday night while Collision Investigation Unit detectives investigated the scene of the crash.
Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
