CIU Detectives Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Wash. – Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives responded to a fatal collision in the 1800 block of Pioneer Highway on Sunday. At approximately 3 p.m. a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle collided. The driver of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old man, was transported to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.
The road was closed for several hours Sunday evening while CIU detectives investigated the crash. Several witnesses reported the motorcycle was driving at a high rate of speed and attempting to pass several vehicles when the collision occurred.
Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
