MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision near the 6300 block of 33rd Ave NE. When deputies arrived on scene they found an adult male unresponsive in the roadway. First responders performed lifesaving efforts on the victim, but the 59-year-old Arlington man died at the scene.
The driver, a 49-year-old Marysville woman, remained at the scene and was cooperative with detectives.
CIU detectives are actively investigating the cause of the collision, but believe the victim was walking in the lane of travel when he was struck. The road was closed for several hours Saturday while detectives investigated the crash.
Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
