Deputies Investigate Stabbing in Unincorporated Snohomish

SNOHOMISH, Wash. – At approximately 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a stabbing in the 7600 block of 199th Ave SE. Upon arrival deputies located the victim, a 21-year-old male, with a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim was transported by aid to Providence Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 19-year-old male, fled the scene in a vehicle and was located by deputies. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop without incident.
During the investigation, deputies learned the 21-year-old victim and the 19-year-old suspect are co-workers and a verbal altercation occurred at their worksite prior to the stabbing. Deputies continue to investigate and interview witnesses to determine what led up to the stabbing. The 19-year-old male suspect is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree assault.
The knife deputies believe was used in the assault has been located. This is an active investigation.
