CIU Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Stanwood

STANWOOD, Wash. – Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to single-vehicle fatal crash in the 23200 block of Pioneer Highway in Stanwood. At approximately 4:20 p.m. a motorcycle lost control, left the roadway and crashed. The driver, a 55 year-old Snohomish woman, died at the scene.
CIU detectives are still working to determine the cause of the crash. The female had been out riding with a group of friends all afternoon and it is unknown what led to the crash. Detectives do not believe speed or alcohol were contributing factors.
Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
