Detectives Investigate Homicide in Marysville

MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the 700 block of 86th Street NW around 12 a.m. for a report that an adult male accidentally shot himself. The victim, a 47 year-old Marysville man, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and died at the scene. An adult female and two juveniles were at the residence when the incident occurred. During the investigation, detectives discovered multiple conflicting reports of what occurred and determined the death was suspicious in nature. Following interviews with Major Crimes Unit detectives, a 47 year-old Marysville woman was arrested and booked into Snohomish County jail for second-degree murder.
This is an active investigation. Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner of death are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
