Detectives Investigate Homicide at Arlington Residence

ARLINGTON, Wash. – At approximately 1:30 p.m. yesterday, deputies responded to a shooting in the 11000 block of 72nd Ave NE. The victim, a 37 year-old Everett man, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and later died at the hospital. During the investigation, detectives learned the victim arrived at the residence of a 37 year-old Arlington man and engaged in a physical altercation before shooting the 37 year-old Arlington man in the arm. The 37 year-old Arlington man gained control of the gun and returned shots at the 37 year-old Everett man.
The 37 year-old Everett man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported by aid to Providence Regional Medical Center where he died. The 37 year-old Arlington man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his arm and was transported by aid to Providence Regional Medical Center. At this time, no arrests have been made, but detectives with the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the incident.
Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
