CIU Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Stanwood

STANWOOD, Wash. –The Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit responded to a single-vehicle fatal collision near the 23200 block of Pioneer Highway around 10 p.m. on Saturday. A motorcycle was traveling southbound on Pioneer Highway when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a telephone pole. The driver of the motorcycle, a 58 year-old Arlington man, died at the scene.
Detectives believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner, are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
