SNOHOMISH, Wash. – A 32 year-old Everett man is in custody following an overnight standoff with law enforcement at a residence in the 1000 block of Bluff Ave. Around 7:40 p.m. yesterday, a call was made to 911 that the male was firing a 9mm inside the residence at his ex-girlfriend. The male, who was intoxicated, told witnesses he was going to barricade himself inside the house.    The female was able to get out of the residence safely and there were no other occupants in the house at the time.  SWAT arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m. Negotiations to get the suspect to surrender were unsuccessful and the team deployed chemical munitions (OC) and impact munitions (pepper balls) to try to get the suspect to comply.  Finally, SWAT deployed the BearCat (SWAT vehicle), tearing a portion of the outer wall off of the residence so they could make entry with a K9 team.  The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Providence Regional Medical Center for treatment of dog bites and other minor injuries.  He will be booked in the Snohomish County jail for 2nd degree domestic violence assault and 2nd degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
