CIU Investigating Fatal Collision in Stanwood

STANWOOD, Wash. – The Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal collision at 28th Ave NW and 268th St NW. Just before 11 a.m. a two-car collision occurred at the intersection of 28th Ave NW and 268th St NW. One passenger vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The driver of that vehicle died at the scene. The other passenger vehicle was driven by an adult female who was transported by aid with non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
