SAR Locates Missing Hiker Deceased near Blanca Lake

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) team responded to a call for an overdue hiker near Blanca Lake just after 12 a.m. Tuesday morning. A 33 year-old Lynnwood man left on a solo day hike to Blanca Lake around 1 p.m. Monday. When he didn’t arrive home Monday night, family members went to the trail to look for him.

Just before 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, SAR located the 33 year-old man deceased in a nearby stream that connects to Blanca Lake. His death appears to be accidental.

Identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
