Marysville, Wash. – Just after 12 a.m. today the Region 1 SWAT team responded to a barricaded suspect in the 14100 block of 40th Ave NW. An adult male suspect allegedly assaulted a female by choking her to unconsciousness. The suspect made threats to kill the victim and would not allow her to leave the residence. Eventually the victim was able to escape the residence. When deputies arrived on scene the suspect refused to exit the residence. The Region 1 SWAT team responded to the scene and attempted to communicate with the suspect. After continuous unsuccessful efforts to communicate with the suspect, the SWAT team deployed a pepperball into the suspect’s bedroom via the window. The suspect immediately exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. The 41 year-old Marysville man was booked into Snohomish County jail for second-degree assault, felony harassment, and unlawful imprisonment.
