EVERETT, Wash. – Last night at approximately 8:10 p.m. the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force was searching for a felony warrant subject near 128th Street and Interstate-5. Deputies located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on I-5 and VOTF attempted a traffic stop. The suspect did not pull over. A second attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle was unsuccessful. The vehicle attempted to elude deputies, turned off its lights and quickly accelerated, approaching speeds over 100 MPH. The vehicle swerved towards the NE 175th Street off-ramp, crossed through a grassy area and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle continued to travel across the off-ramp and hit a dividing wall before striking a tree head on. Both people inside the vehicle were detained. The driver, a 25 year-old Everett man, was arrested for a felony warrant out of Maryland for three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. The passenger, a 23 year-old man, was arrested for a felony warrant out of New York City for fraud.
