Man Injured in Suspected Accidental Shooting

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – Deputies responded to a shooting around 12:30 a.m. at the 20300 block of Gun Club Rd. The victim, a 61-year old Granite Falls male, was transported by aid to Harborview Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. It is believed that the shooter, a 35-year old male, was inspecting the rifle when it accidentally went off. There was no reported altercation between the victim and the shooter before the incident occurred.
Several adults and a child were inside the home when the incident occurred, but no other injuries were reported. Two witnesses, a 36-year old female and a 24-year old female, as well as the shooter stayed at the scene and provided statements to patrol deputies. A .22 caliber rifle was recovered and taken for evidence. No charges have been filed at this time. This is still an active investigation.
