SAR Responds to Injured Hiker on Lake Serene Trail

GOLD BAR, Wash. – The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit and volunteers from Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue responded to a rescue late yesterday on the trail to Lake Serene. A 49 year-old woman from Puyallup was hiking when she rolled her ankle, possibly fracturing it. Another hiker who was passing by saw the injured woman and called 911 just after 8 p.m. Fire Department 26 and Search and Rescue were deployed, located the victim and packed her down to the trailhead. She was transported by aid car to seek medical treatment. The entire rescue operation took approximately six hours.
