Missing Canoeists Safely Located

GOLD BAR, Wash. – The two missing male canoeists have been located. They self-rescued downstream and walked to a nearby residence. Neither is injured.  All Sheriff's Office units are demobilizing.

Dive Team, Helicopter Searching for Missing Canoeists

GOLD BAR, Wash. – The Sheriff's Office Dive Team and helicopter, SnoHawk1, are responding to the area downstream of the Big Eddy on the Skykomish River, searching for two men whose canoe overturned.  A witness called 911 after seeing the canoe overturn and reported that it was believed the two men were not wearing life jackets.  The canoe has been recovered, but there has been no reported sign of the missing men at this time.
