Everett, Wash. – Detectives have confirmed that the injured bicyclist involved in last night’s collision on 128th St SW is a 33 year-old Lynnwood man. He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center (not Harborview, as previously reported) and is expected to survive his injuries. Initial witness reports and evidence confirm that the bicycle rider crossed the busy 5-lane road from north to south on his bike where there was no crossing or intersection. Although the investigation is not complete, detectives do not anticipate any arrests in this case.
update 5/24/2017 10:38 p.m.128th has re-opened but the collision remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. Status of the bicyclist is not known at this time and the victim is a male in his 30's (not female as previously reported). ##

Everett, Wash. – All eastbound lanes of 128th St SW between I-5 & 4th Ave W (Everett) are closed for a car vs bicycle collision investigation. The collision was reported around 4:30 p.m. in front of the Denny's on the south side of 128th St SW. The female victim was transported to Harborview Regional Medical Center and the driver has remained at the scene.
The closure of 128th St SW during rush hour may impact commuter and bus traffic in the area for several hours.
