INDEX, Wash. -  Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue teams were unable to locate a 16 year-old lost hiker after an overnight ground search of the area near Lake Serene/Bridal Veil Falls trail.  The missing Marysville teen is Fielremaroa Araya, who goes by Fik, and he is 5'10", weighs 160 lbs and is wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweat pants. Araya has medical issues which require daily medication and is not dressed or equipped to stay overnight in the backcountry.

It is possible that Araya was able to hike down to SR2 during the night and catch a ride with a passing driver.

Araya was hiking with other teens and a counselor up to Lake Serene when he became separated from the group yesterday.  The counselor and teens searched the area for a couple of hours before calling 911 around 9:30 PM.

Anyone with information about Araya's whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Ground search activities will resume today and the parking lot for the Lake Serene/Bridal Veil Falls trailheads just off Mt. Index River Rd will be closed today to the public.
