Snohomish County Jail Death Investigation

Everett, Wash. –On the evening of April 16, 2017, at approximately 6:50 PM., a 20 year-old male inmate was found unresponsive at the Snohomish County Jail, located at 3025 Oakes Ave, Everett, WA. Snohomish County Corrections personnel immediately began multiple life saving techniques, to include CPR, but unfortunately efforts were unsuccessful.
At the request of the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the inmate had recently been transferred to the Snohomish County Jail from Skagit County Corrections. Questions regarding the transfer and the request should be directed to Skagit County.
The incident is currently under investigation by detectives from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
The identity of the inmate, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office once they have verified the information to release.
