EVERETT, WASH. – Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office volunteers, under the command of a deputy, located a 62 year-old Everett man with dementia after he was reported missing.  The man, a Project Care Track client, was reported missing around 7 p.m. yesterday from his home on Cady Ave.  He was located by members of the Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue (SCVSAR) unit a few miles from his home at 44th St SE and Evergreen Way about an hour later.

Project Care Track is a program for the most vulnerable citizens in our community, especially those with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and autism. Each Project Care Track client is provided a one-ounce electronic bracelet that emits a unique radio signal 24 hours a day. When a client wanders, a call to 911 by a caregiver triggers a rapid response by a trained SCVSAR team.  Project Care Track dramatically reduces search time and the chance of injury or death.
