Summary of Weekend Rescues

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASH. – Sheriff’s Office special operations units were busy this weekend with two rescues, one by air and one by sea.  Following is a summary of those operations:

  • On July 23 around 2:30 p.m., a call came in via satellite phone that a 53 year-old male had fallen and broken shoulder while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail near Glacier Peak.  SnoHAWK10 located the injured man around 5 p.m. and transported him to Providence Regional Medical Center. 
  • On July 24 around 4 p.m., the Marine Unit responded to an 18ft pleasure boat “dead in the water” off of Mission Beach. The three persons (age, gender, and hometown unknown) aboard the vessel were safely rescued and the vessel was towed to safety around 6:45 p.m.
