SNOHMISH, Wash. – With help from tips that came in from the public and dental records, major crimes detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office were able to positively identify a woman recovered from the Snohomish River on June 26. Afton M. Brown had last been seen in the Skykomish area and reported missing to the King County Sheriff’s Office. The cause and manner of death of the 35 year-old transient woman is still pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner. However, there is no obvious sign of trauma or foul play and detectives do not believe her death is suspicious at this time.
Brown was recovered from a snag in the river near the 14110 block of Shorts School Rd Sunday night.
