LAKE STEVENS, Wash. - The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Collision Investigation Unit is investigating a motorcycle and vehicle collision that occurred last night around 11 p.m. at the intersection of SR 9 and 20th St SE. The motorcycle driver, a 26 year-old Marysville man, sustained head and leg injuries and was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle, a 26 year-old Lake Stevens man, was uninjured and stayed at the scene, cooperating with detectives. SR 9 was closed for over three hours for the collision investigation.
The cause of the collision will be determined by CIU detectives through their investigation of the incident, but initial information gathered from witnesses indicates that the motorcycle driver may have ran a red light.
