At approximately 9:30 PM tonight, a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of suspicious activity (two males prowling outside a vacant residence) at the 18600 block of Marine Drive in Stanwood. A deputy from the Island County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call, since he was already in the area. When the deputies arrived at the residence, they saw two males jump into a waiting vehicle. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene, hitting the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office patrol car and attempting to run over the Island County deputy.
The suspects continued to flee law enforcement in a vehicle pursuit that involved several different jurisdictions, eventually placing the pursuit on southbound I-5.
The suspects exited I-5 at 128th St in Everett and the pursuit was terminated at the 200 block of 128th St SW. Sheriff’s deputies have placed three suspects in custody, two 25 year-old males and one 22 year-old female. The female was believed to the driver of the vehicle.
At this time, there are no known injuries to either deputy. The incident remains under investigation.
