An Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (“AI”) was conducted for Snohomish County that identifies barriers to fair housing in our community. The AI identifies eight impediments to fair housing choice and seventeen recommended actions to address barriers and improve access.
Fair housing laws prohibit discriminatory actions against applicants/residents of housing based upon a protected class* (i.e., race, color, national origin or ancestry, family with children, religion, sex (gender), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or military).
