District 4


I’m Terry Ryan, council member for Snohomish County Council District 4.  Our district includes unincorporated areas of Snohomish County as well as the cities of Bothell, Brier, Mill Creek and Mountlake Terrace.

I’m excited for the opportunities we have to build a strong economy and safe, livable neighborhoods.  I will use my experience in small business and economic development as well as municipal government for the betterment of our district and Snohomish County.

Biography of Terry Ryan
Prior to being elected to the Snohomish County Council in 2013, Terry was a highly effective Mill Creek City council member (17 years) including four terms as Mayor.  

Terry has consistently had the same priorities:
1)    Public Safety and creating safe neighborhoods.
2)    Economic Development to create living wage jobs and increase revenues;
3)    Restrained government spending.

Led the city to balanced budgets with Public Safety as his top priority including 6 years as Mayor with no property tax increase and built a cash reserve of $5.5 million dollars.
Worked with State Legislators and Snohomish County Elected Officials to successfully obtain $1.58 million in grants for the City of Mill Creek.
Served on Mill Creek Budget, Capital Facilities and Personnel committees.

Terry supports our armed services and veterans.  He received the United States “Friend of the Navy” award.

Terry currently chairs the County Council Public Works Committee dealing with road, solid waste and surface water management services.

In his spare time, Terry serves his community by coaching youth soccer teams at the Premier and high school levels.

Terry and his wife, Roberta, live in Mill Creek.  They have four children.
