Thank you for joining Snohomish County Public Works and County Executive John Lovick to celebrate the official reopening of North Road on July 22, 2015.
North Road is a 1.8-mile north-south arterial located east of Interstate 5 and west of the Bothell-Everett Highway (SR 527). The two-lane corridor was under construction during 2014 and 2015 to add improvements that benefitted pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers.
Sidewalks and bike lanes were constructed along both sides of the corridor between Filbert Road and 164th Street Southwest, along with a continuous center turn lane.
Planting strips were be added in several locations where there was sufficient right-of-way. Storm water detention and water quality treatment systems handle water runoff and retaining walls protect and preserve wetland areas.
Interwest Construction was the contractor.
Total Cost to County - $12.7 million
If you live next to North Road and have questions about how this project might affect your property, please contact right-of-way staff listed below. Some of your questions may be answered in the Before We Build Brochure (PDF).
An environmental review of the North Road project was completed in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). An environmental checklist was prepared and a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) was issued in 2010.
These documents are available by viewing the links below or from Snohomish County public works during normal business hours:
If you have questions about the environmental review process, email Environmental Planner Mary Auld.
