Road Maintenance Work Program (2023-2028)

Description

Snohomish County Public Works Road Maintenance Division’s work program uses best management practices and best available science to ensure water quality and habitat are protected during the maintenance and repair of roads, culverts and stormwater facilities. Road maintenance occurs throughout the year and includes a wide range of activities. These include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintenance of paved roads, gravel roads and road shoulders
  • Pothole repair
  • Vegetation management
  • Embankment stabilization and repair
  • Maintenance of pedestrian walkways
  • Cleaning of catch basins and culverts
  • Maintenance of stormwater detention facilities and the stormwater conveyance systems 
  • Beaver deterrence, dam modification, and removal are also performed if necessary to protect county-maintained infrastructure

Environmental Review

Public Works has completed an environmental review of the Road Maintenance Work Program (2023-2028) in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). A notice of Determination of Non-Significance was published on November 6, 2022. The comment period ends on December 9, 2022.
