U.S. Passport Application Acceptance
The Snohomish County Treasurer’s office is designated as an approved passport acceptance facility.
If you applying for a new U.S. passport, please download the necessary forms, and review important guidelines as stated by the U.S. Department of State Passport website.
The Treasurer's Office does not process renewal applications. The U.S. Department of State only accepts renewals by mail. For more information please see their website here.
Application process: The Snohomish County Treasurer’s office processes passport applications by appointment only. If you do not have all your documents present and correctly filled out at the time of your appointment, you forfeit your timeslot and will need to reschedule.
Appointments: Appointments are booked online here. Those booking appointments together must be immediate family members. Separate checks will need to be collected for each individual as outlined in the fees section.
Photos: Photos are available on site for $15.00 for each applicant. If pre-printed photos are preferred, ensure they follow the U.S. Department of State guidelines for photo acceptance.
Fees: Fees accepted by check or money order only. Two separate forms of payments are required for each application. The application fee(s) made payable to US Department of State. The acceptance fee(s) made payable to Snohomish County Treasurer’s Office.

Documents to bring to your passport appointment for each applicant:
- Application Forms completed and unsigned
- Proof of Citizenship
- Proof of Identity and photocopy
- Photocopy the front and back of each ID with each application.
- Photocopy must be on white, 8.5 x 11 inch standard paper, black and white, and single sided.
- Do not decrease the image size (although you may enlarge it).
- Social Security Number
- Passport Photo
- Two Checks or Money Orders
- Application fee is paid to the U.S. Department of State
- Acceptance fee is paid to the Snohomish County Treasurer's Office
