Snohomish County is scheduled to replace the existing culverts at the 268th St NW crossing of Secret Creek, near Stanwood, during summer 2021. The existing 24-inch and 18-inch concrete culverts have been deemed a fish-passage barrier. The project will replace the parallel culverts with a single 18-foot span, 10-foot rise, by 70-foot long culvert.
Snohomish County and the construction contractor will be practicing COVID-19 prevention protocols during this project. Please give crews six feet for social distancing.
Construction for this project is scheduled for July through the beginning of September 2021.
A three-week road closure will be required for this project in the 1300 block of 268th St NW with a signed detour. The assigned detour route will use 28th Ave NW, 276th St NW/Beck Rd, Old Highway 99, 12th Ave NW, and 268th St NW.
Construction for this project is estimated at $715,000 and will be funded through the Surface Water Management Utility Fund.
