Remote Appearances

Remote Appearance Instructions

Parties must connect with Zoom 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the hearing in order to be identified and brought into the virtual courtroom. Parties who are late may not be able to participate in their hearing. Pursuant to CR 16, SCLAR 0.02(e)(4), and Administrative Order 37-20, the recording of any courtroom proceeding, without the express permission of the judicial officer, is strictly prohibited.

To Connect Via Zoom Application or on a Computer:

  1. Test your audio settings for both microphone and speaker prior to the hearing. The court cannot address these issues for you during the hearing.
  2. Ensure the internet or network connection you plan to use is steady and will not drop or fade out during your hearing.  Ethernet/wired connections on a computer are best.
  3. Click the link below for the appropriate calendar for your case 15 minutes prior to the hearing.  Use the calendars found here if you are unsure which calendar your hearing is on.
  4. When prompted by Zoom for a display name, enter your First and Last Name.
  5. Wait to be admitted to the meeting by the court.  Listen carefully to see if the court asks you to identify yourself and the case on which you are appearing.
  6. Once admitted to the meeting and identified (if applicable), mute yourself until your case is called by the judicial officer.

To Connect Via Phone:

  1. If using a cell phone, ensure you are in an area with a steady network connection.
  2. Find the appropriate calendar for your case below. Use the calendars found here if you are unsure which calendar your hearing is on.
  3. Dial 253-215-8782 and enter the information found below for the appropriate calendar when prompted. When Zoom experiences a high volume of calls, you may receive a message indicating the number is not in service. If this occurs, hang up and dial the number again.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Zoom hearings are set up to partially block telephone numbers for call-in participants. However, parties who want to block their entire phone number from appearing in the zoom application should dial *67 before the phone number listed below for their hearing.
  4. Wait to be admitted to the meeting by the court. Listen carefully to see if the court asks you to identify yourself and the case on which you are appearing.
  5. Once admitted to the meeting and identified (if applicable), mute yourself until your case is called by the judicial officer. If you experience issues with the court being able to hear you once you have unmuted yourself, press *6 to toggle mute/unmute within the application.

Prior to selecting a meeting link below, confirm the courtroom location your hearing is scheduled at by checking the daily calendar for the
