Purpose

Snohomish County’s Ad Hoc Climate Action Advisory Committee (CAAC) will provide recommendations that encourage the adoption of policies, programs, and practices in order to address climate change, protect public health, reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), and preserve the natural environment in Snohomish County.

The primary responsibilities of the Climate Action Advisory Committee are to advise the county on:

  1. The county’s internal sustainable operations action plan (SOAP), and a new countywide climate action plan;
  2. Opportunities to realize equity and fairness across the county’s diverse communities around environmental conservation issues that support the county’s SOAP and countywide plans; and
  3. Strategies to engage Snohomish County residents and businesses on sustainability and climate change issues.
