Electronic Filing
Attorneys must electronically file (e-file) court documents using the Clerk's online eFile & Serve (EFS) e-filing system. Non-attorneys are encouraged to e-file but are not required to do so. For a list of exceptions to e-filing, including documents that will NOT BE ACCEPTED through e-filing, please see Snohomish County Local Court Rule 30 (SCLCR 30).
Prior to e-filing, you are encouraged to read SCLCR 30 and Washington State General Rule 30 (GR 30).
Filing hours for court documents are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. PST, excluding court holidays. Any paper or electronic documents received outside of these filing hours will be considered received and filed at the beginning of the next business day.
Note - Proposed orders received through e-filing WILL NOT be presented to the bench for signature; they will be filed in the court file. The Clerk does not accept Ex Parte-via-the-Clerk requests through e-filing; they must be submitted in paper form.
eFile & Serve Filing Fees
There are no fees for using eFile & Serve. The only fees that users will encounter are statutory filing fees and an eCommerce transaction fee which shall be applied for each electronic payment (2.89% of total fees for credit and debit cards).
Judicial Working Copies
Judicial working copies will continue to be required in paper form and presented pursuant to SCLCR 7(b)(2)(b) unless directed otherwise by Superior Court.
